Shawn McLoughlin, of Delran, NJ and product of the Philadelphia Fury youth training program was invited to England to train with Queens Park Rangers of the English Championship.
Shawn, aged 15, plays for Washington United Arsenal, currently ranked 3rd in the nation, are coached by Fury's training partners Atlantic Soccer Factory and Fury owner himself, Matt Driver.
The timing of the trial came at the time Shawn had to return to High School after his summer off, however Head Coach at Delran High School, Mike Otto was hugley supportive and assisted in making the trip happen for our young prospect.
The official invite to train with the team was part of an assessment idea to gauge both his development as well as the level at which current players trained by the Fury and ASF are at.
Reports and feedback on Shawn from QPR were glowing with Shawn performing well and demonstrating he could play at that level and was as good as what the club currently has. This is a huge testoment to Shawns ability as a number of the current QPR team were leaving for international duty that week.
Shawn is pictured with Technical Director Chris Ramsey and Eddie Munnelly.
